Estate gifts in various forms are wonderful acts of tzedakah, especially when they memorialize the donor’s name in perpetuity. How to GiveCash- You can write a check or use your credit card. You will receive a full tax deduction. Securities- Donate appreciated long term securities, avoid tax on appreciation and receive a tax deduction equal to the current market value of the stock. Matching Gift Program-Does your employer participate in a matching gift program? Many companies do. Matching gifts are a very important way in which you can enhance your charitable giving. Three simple steps: 1. Obtain the form and necessary instructions from your Human Resources Office. 2. Complete the employee's section and sign the form. 3. Send the form to The Solomon Schecter Day School of Greater Hartford. We will complete our section of the form and return it to the company.
