From Witness to Peace Builder:
The Rwandan Genocide Against the Tutsi
and One Man’s Choice to Stay
Taken from Hartford Seminary's Website:
Please join us to hear from Carl Wilkens, the only American who chose to stay in the country after the Rwandan genocide began.
Wilkens, the former head of the Adventist Development and Relief Agency International in Rwanda, will talk about recent visits to Rwanda as well as share his personal stories from the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi. The “firing” of new brain pathways and our ability to reframe the “other” are some of the powerful tools and practices he has learned from survivors, perpetrators, and his own journey.
Registration is appreciated for this free event.
