Yes. We understand that each family’s finances are unique, so Schechter offers tuition assistance to all who qualify. There is a clear and confidential process to seek assistance, which is completed through an online system, FACTS. No. At Schechter, we have one integrated curriculum, which is student-centered. Valuable learning takes places throughout the day regardless of the subject area. For example, skills taught in Hebrew and Judaics classes reinforce the skills learned in general studies classes. Throughout their entire Schechter education, students practice analyzing, making connections, questioning and communicating effectively. Teachers collaborate regularly to ensure that the skills taught are reinforced in all content areas.

Students are greeted each day at 8:00 a.m. at the circle drop off. The school day officially begins at 8:30 a.m. and students are dismissed at 3:30 p.m. On Wednesdays, students are dismissed at 2:30 p.m. and teachers attend professional development workshops. In the winter months, students are dismissed at 2:30 p.m. on Fridays in honor of Shabbat. Several options exist for student dismissal time in the Early Childhood Program. Schechter offers after school care. Students can participate in our Extended Day Program from 3:30PM-6PM, Monday through Friday. Please note: From November to early March, the extended day ends at 3:30PM on Fridays to accommodate Shabbat.

A hot kosher lunch is available for students to purchase. Lunches can be purchased online for a two month time period, be bought daily or occasionally. Students can also bring a dairy or pareve lunch from home (prepared without meat, dairy eggs, or fish).

Beginning in Kindergarten, students who live in West Hartford are eligible for transportation. Families sign up through the West Hartford public school system at 860-561-6647.
