Kol Hakavod to the 2023 Schechter graduates! At a beautiful ceremony last night, we honored each graduate with personalized reflections about their time at Schechter. They each spoke articulately about a different passage in Pirkei Avot and how those words relate to their experiences at Schechter. Faculty members honored the uniqueness of each student, demonstrating the strong bonds created between Schechter students and faculty. We will miss these graduates and their lively spirit as they move on to high school next year, but we look forward to staying in touch so that we can track their growth and future adventures. As Rabbi Berger said, this is " l'hitraot," and not goodbye!
Over the past few weeks, we have had the pleasure of inviting parents to share in their children’s learning. Recently, first and second graders read nonfiction and poetry (in both English and Hebrew) to loved ones; Kindergarten students held a book signing of their published work, Turtle Fight, after collaborating on the story’s plot, details, characters, and illustrations; third and fourth graders taught each other - and their guests - about different cultures from around the world; and eighth graders presented their own published reflections published in We are America.
