Rimonim students ushered in the new year with a celebration! In a beautiful ceremony with loved ones Zooming in, our second graders received their siddurim. Their third grade friends presented each one with a siddur, making them feel very special with handmade cards and heartfelt words of encouragement congratulating them on reaching this milestone. Each second grader selected their favorite tefillah (prayer) to lead and recite at the ceremony. At the end of the tefillah service, the second graders were honored with an aliyah to the Torah. They celebrated with a special snack that they prepared together as a class. For more photos of the ceremony, click HERE.
Habonim students are using their Earth science unit to learn about water and the rock cycle. In keeping with Schechter’s outdoor classroom model, students visited a nearby pond, practicing making observations as they viewed local landforms. Students then compared landforms in their local environment to those in national parks.
