Eleanor, Class of 2025
Most days in Israel, we wake up before 7 so we can get going early; because it was Shabbat, we got to sleep until 8:15! We did the start of tefillah, and then had breakfast; after breakfast, we read Torah and did the rest of the service. Then, we had free time, and during free time we mostly just talked to people from other schools, learned their last names and where they were from, and played basketball. We went on a walk and learned about the history of Degania Bet (the kibbutz we were staying at). After that we had more free time, and then we did minchah; after that, we did a auction on Jewish values (with fake money). We had dinner, did havdalah, got on the bus, and went to Tiberias for about an hour. We then went back to the kibbutz for our last night, packed our bags, and slept.
Shabbat was peaceful since we were on the kibbutz all day, mostly relaxing, and it was special to spend Shabbat in Israel!
