We started off Monday by going to Anu—the Museum of the Jewish People at Tel Aviv University—and learned about the history of the Jewish people all around the world. Then, we went to the Ayalon Mall for a pizur lunch. There were several options, but almost everyone got kosher McDonald’s. We then went to the Parasports Center where we learned about Israeli programs for athletes with disabilities, and we got to play wheelchair basketball.
Following that, we drove to the Children’s Museum in Holon. They have two amazing permanent exhibits about disabilities. Some of us went to the blind exhibit and some of us went to the deaf exhibit, and we experienced what it feels like to be blind or deaf. I realized that we should be grateful that we are not blind or deaf because some people have to go through their lives without being able to see or hear—but I also saw how these people use their other senses to get through their lives. For example, in the blind exhibit, the guide was blind and was the only person not to fall during the experience, because he uses other senses like hearing and smell to walk.
Finally, we went to the Azrieli Mall for pizur dinner, and then went back to the hotel to prepare for our last day in Israel.
